Tisa finance reappoints Koiri as chairman

TISA Community Finance Limited (TCF) has appointed Moses Koiri as board director and chairman to help steer the organisation forward.
TCF vice-chairman Michael Koisen said Koiri’s “extensive experience, deep understanding of the legal, banking, finance and business industry in PNG, and his proven leadership skills also make him an invaluable addition”.
“Moses Koiri’s strategic insights will significantly contribute to the realisation of TCF’s vision and operational excellence.”
He has also played a pivotal role in the development and growth of TCF since its inception. He served as chairman of TCF from 2016 until his resignation in March 2021.
Throughout his tenure, he made substantial contribution to the board’s strategic vision and overall development of the organisation.
His leadership has been instrumental in steering TCF from its initial startup stage to where it is today – a fully-fledged TCF financial institution.
TCF is a licensed financial institution focused on providing financial services and products to the retail and commercial sector, including small and medium enterprises (SMEs). It is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Teachers Savings and Loan Society Ltd (Tisa).
Koiri is a distinguished senior lawyer and principal of Albatross Law. He brings a wealth of expertise in commercial advisory and litigation to the TCF board.
With an extensive background working in corporate legal environments, he has held key roles and directorships with notable organisations, including Maybank and Comrade Trustee Services Limited.
Koiri’s other immediate past directorships included on the boards of Toyota Tsusho (PNG) Limited, Capital Insurance Group Ltd, and as principal legal officer / chief operating officer at IPBC, the predecessor to Kumul Consolidated Holding Limited during the formative years of the PNG LNG Project.
Koiri began his career at the Bougainville Copper Limited and holds a Master of Laws from Monash University in Australia.
