AN auxiliary policeman and another man were arrested in Wewak in relation to the death of a man from Yangoru at Nuigo on Feb 28.
East Sepik police commander Supt Albert Beli said the two were in custody and were being investigated.
He said that it was alleged that on Feb 28 the suspects and the deceased, Ferdinand Wianango, were drinking together and had an argument that resulted in the death.
He said in retaliation some properties of the main suspect, the auxiliary policeman, were damaged.
Supt Beli said the suspects escaped but were later arrested.
“I am calling on the relatives of the deceased not to do anything because if they are caught doing anything against the relatives of the suspect, they will be arrested and charged too,” he said.
He appealed to the relatives to allow law to take its course.
“I want to warn those who are doing roadblocks at Tangori to stop because the suspects are now in police custody.”
