Awareness on child protection

EQUAL Playing Field will be facilitating an advocacy and awareness programme on gender equality, child protection and healthy relationships during the Peace Festival in Sogeri, Central, to mark the International Day of Peace (Sept 21).
Programme manager Alicia Sion told The National yesterday that most of their work was limited to the National Capital District, however the opportunity to participate in the peace festival would help the organisation spread the message in Central.
The Peace Festival will take place on Sept 22-23 led by Child Fund in partnership with PNG Tribal Foundation and World Vision with financial support from the European Union under its Human Rights Programme.
Sion said with the recent incident of an alleged abduction and rape of a 15-year-old girl in Port Moresby, Equal Playing Field aimed to reach out to as many youths and children to prevent all forms of violence.
