THE road from the Bomana Police College to the PNG Correctional Services in Port Moresby is set to be fixed after a K16 million contract was given to Phoenix Construction Company, Minister for Housing and Urbanisation John Kaupa says.
“The road condition has deteriorated over time from weather conditions and other factors and it has come to the government’s attention to get it fixed,” Kaupa said yesterday.
“The contract should have the 6km road in better condition soon.
“As soon as Phoenix complete the road at ATS, they will come and start working on this one.”
Kaupa said this was a government response after the public raised concern about the state of the road.
“As leaders we must respond to such matters quickly, and it was good that the people brought that up.”
Kaupa said many public servants including CIS officers, teachers, trainers, and health workers used this road daily.
NCD project manager John Makop said the government was doing its best to fix roads around the city, suburbs and settlement areas.
“We are not looking at one area but we are trying our best to look at different areas.”
