Baking: From homemade delights to big business

 Baking has been recognised as a growing industry in the country.

BNG Trading Company Ltd  has become a distributor by ordering and supplying baking equipment and products to users and customers throughout Papua New Guinea.

National business development manager Pat Murray said the industry is growing very fast.    

“The demand is very, very big. 

“BNG imports mainly Sinmag baking equipment.”

Murray said BNG has a wide range of customers’ right across the country.

“In Southern region alone, we (BNG) supply to about 128 outlets, and there’s another 100 outlets in others (regions).

“We bring the equipment in (importing of Sinmag equipment), we teach the staff … we do set up of a bakery and we bring people in and teach them how to do baking,” he said. 

Sinmag is a manufacturer of a full range of bakery equipment. 

The range of bakery equipment covers planetary mixers, spiral mixers, bowl lifters, dividers, divider and rounders, moulders, sheeters, proofers, retarder proofers, convection ovens, (gas and electric), deck ovens (gas and electric), rack ovens (gas, oil and electric), tunnel ovens (gas and electric), slicers, showcases, water coolers, water meters, bake ware, etc.

The company was established in 1983 in Taiwan. 

Sinmag Group Corporation consists of five companies, which are located in mainland China, the United States, Malaysia and Thailand respectively with its head office set in Taiwan.
