Ban heavy vehicles from using freeway

Letters, Normal

THE latest tragic accident at the “killer corner” along the Poreporena Freeway could have been avoided if the Government or NCDC had taken a simple measure – ban heavy vehicles.
If PMVs are banned from the freeway, then the same rule should apply to heavy vehicles too.
If construction companies and transport companies are complaining, then let them to use only one direction of the freeway – from downtown to Hohola, Waigani, etc.
We have seen and read of too many accidents along the so-called “killer corner”.
It is time to put an end to this.
I call on the Transport Minister, who is also the PM to show that he cares – by banning heavy vehicles along the freeway.
