Bank seeks to facilitate services

 THE building of infrastructure should be accompanied by social dimensions for the benefit of the people associated with it, says an Asian Development Bank official.

ADB vice-president knowledge management and sustainable development Bambang Susantono visited the Brown River bridge project along the Hiritano Highway yesterday and said: “We are trying to facilitate the movement of goods and people, we are not only building but we are serving the people with some facilities.

“I’m glad to hear that you will build some social facilities because this is one of the social dimensions. 

“We have to accommodate some social things and I commend you for building some facilities for women and children when they go to the river,” Susantono said.

“Again when the infrastructure is there, the benefit for the whole people can be realisedon the ground.”

Susantono was accompanied by ADB and China Habour Engineering Company officials.
