Barras coach tips exciting clashes at EAP qualifiers

THE Hebou PNG Barramundis have checked all the boxes heading into the ICC WT20 East-Asia-Pacific (EAP) Qualifier ‘A’ in Suva, where the weather has been perfect for Cricket.
“Not a cloud in the sky and playing on an artificial turf, the games are going to be very friendly for the batsmen plus the grounds here aren’t massive, so we expect a lot of runs in Fiji,” national coach Joe Dawes, who was expecting high scoring games on the synthetic surfaces in Fiji, said.
Dawes admitted that the side had suffered a blow with Alei Nao ruled out this week but they side were ready to step up.
“The men are playing for their country. One doesn’t need to motivate them,” Dawes said.
Dawes had prepared asequately for whatever they came up against.
The players took part in the Hebou Shield earlier this month and played a club side in Brisbane as well.
The Barramundis take on Samoa and Fiji tomorrow with Dawes satisfied his men would have little trouble with the conditions or the pitch. Barramundis: 1. Assad Vala (c), 2. Charles Amini Jr (vc), 3.
