THE Papua New Guinea Barramundis remain undefeated in the Hebou International T20 Series after a thumping 77-run win over Hong Kong at the Amini Park in Port Moresby yesterday.
After winning the toss and electing to bat, the Barramundis registered a mammoth 195/5 with Sese Bau continuing his good form with a well-made 60 not out off just 40 balls.
Bau, pictured, was strongly supported by Kipling Doriga (29) and an incredible, whirlwind innings from Norman Vanua who posted an unbeaten 43 runs off just 14 balls.
Tanveer Ahmed was the pick of the Hong Kong bowling attack picking up 2-28, while Raag Kapur (1-19) picked up a single wicket.
In reply, Hong Kong got off to a disastrous start, slumping to 35/3 by the fifth over.
Unfortunately for the visitors, they were unable to recover from this, despite some handy knocks in the middle order from Kapur (37) and Waqas Khan (25).
Hong Kong were eventually bowled out for 118 in 19.4 overs with Damien Ravu wreaking havoc claiming an incredible 4-19 off his four overs.
Vanua backed up his innings, taking 3-20 with the ball, while leg-spinner Charles Amini Jr (1-17), Chad Soper (1-18) and Nosaina Pokana (1-23) all picked up a wicket each. Ravu was named the player of the match for his brilliant bowling performance.
The T20 series continues today with the PNG taking on Cricket PNG Academy 11 in the morning match at the Amini Park.
