Be wary about candidates’ past

Letters

THIS is a general announcement and advice to all eligible voter’s of the coming 2022 National General Elections.
Never vote for a person who had been previously arrested and charged by police and/or faced criminal prosecution or appeared before a Leadership Tribunal, even if they were cleared by the criminal and tribunal courts or the commission of inquiries (COIs).
These type of people are very dangerous and cannot lead our rich country to prosperity. Why?
Here are the reasons:

  1. Sometimes the person could have been found guilty but the evidence before the courts, tribunal’s and COIs wasn’t produced;
  2. The matter wasn’t prosecuted competently and diligently;
  3. The criminal courts and leadership tribunal may have exercised leniency, therefore, freed the accused or imposed minor penalties;
  4. Whether the person was found not guilty is irrelevant as adults do not change habits overnight – a thief is always a thief and a liar is always a liar.

I encourage you to do background checks on your candidates before casting your votes.
Vote wisely for the betterment of our future generations.
