FORMER England soccer captain David Beckham, pictured, is set to visit Papua New Guinea, playing seven matches on seven continents in seven days to celebrate 10 years with the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund.

The 40-year-old, known for his good looks and playing ability as well as his personal wealth garnered from his professional career with English Premier League giants Manchester United in the 1990s and early 2000s, has been an ambassador for the charity since the mid-2000s and wants to raise even more money for it.

With wife Victoria, or Posh of Spice Girls fame, the glamorous couple is rated the richest in England.

Beckham this month announced he will return to Old Trafford, Manchester, to captain a Great British XI against French legend Zinedine Zidane’s Rest of the World team.

British tabloid The Mirror revealed this week that the England star would be undertaking a remarkable world tour to benefit UNICEF.

Beckham, a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, launched his own fund for the charity earlier this year, naming it ‘7’.

There will be a documentary, expected to be broadcast by the BBC, charting the former England captain’s trip around the world.

Beckham is expected to stop in Uganda and Papua New Guinea, among other places, in a bid to raise record-breaking amounts of money for the United Nations’ children’s charity.

“I want a world where children can grow up safe from violence, free from poverty and protected from preventable diseases,” said Beckham of his work with UNICEF.

“The match gives me the opportunity to raise awareness and vital funds to help reach the children who need it most.”

Over the past decade, Beckham has played a crucial role helping UNICEF promote and protect the rights of vulnerable children.

He has raised global awareness of the dangers children are facing including Ebola, malnutrition, AIDS and abuse.
