Company extends sponsorship

THE PNG Olympic Committee and Trukai Industries Limited strengthened their partnership with the signing of a five-year contract for the annual Trukai Fun Run last Friday.

Trukai Industries marketing general manager Andrew Daubney said because  of the need to further develop sports and support PNG athletes, Trukai was renewing its sponsorship. Olympic committee president Sir John Dawaninincura said the Fun Run was the PNGOC’s biggest fundraiser and helped send Team PNG to international sporting events like the Pacific Games, Commonwealth Games and the Olympics. 

Daubney said the Trukai brand was renowned for its association with sports in PNG and the firm was looking forward to help develop sports and to equip local athletes.

“The crowd participation (in the Fun Run) is a true show of patriotism by the people,” Daubney said.

He said with the right support and commitment from stakeholders, athletes could only get better.  

Sir John extended his gratitude to other partners for  their support of the annual event.
