Bingtau: Do not contaminate God’s temple with marijuana

 A MAGISTRATE says the human body is God’s temple and should not be contaminated by such things such as marijuana.

Lae District Court magistrate Nasaling Bingtau last Friday sentenced Yusari Buru from Raicoast, Madang, to two years in jail for possessing and selling marijuana.

Bingtau quoted the Bible (Corinthians 3: 16-17) saying the human body was where God’s spirit dwelled and people should not contaminate it 

Buru was caught last Wednesday with 500g of dried marijuana at the Lae main market.

He admitted that a plastic of marijuana exhibited in court was his.

Bingtau was surprised when he heard that Buru had been selling marijuana since the 1990s.

“I will send you to prison for two years because you have been selling marijuana for a long time. You have spoiled the lives of many people already.”
