PNG athletes taking part in the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast next month will be able to keep in touch with family back home thanks to Bmobile-Vodafone.
Bmobile-Vodafone yesterday announced their support of Team PNG through a special communication package which will see all team members and management receive Vodafone Smart Turbo 7 and ZTE Blade A520 handsets respectively.
The handsets will come with REDiSIMs as well as prepaid roaming bundles which will continue for the duration of the Games to ensure Team PNG will be able to stay touch with their family, friends and supporters back home for motivation to perform at their best.
Bmobile-Vodafone subscribers will also be receiving free updates on Team PNG’s progress at the Commonwealth Games through SMS broadcasts on their phones.
PNG Olympic Committee president Sir John Dawanincura said communication was key for success and welcomed the support from Bmobile-Vodafone.
“Communication is very important for any organisation, team, event or between family and friends,” he said.
“This support will greatly enhance our communication and we are delighted to have Bmobile-Vodafone onboard as a part of our corporate family.”
Bmobile-Vodafone chief financial officer Ali Contractor said the Games was an exciting time for the country and they were also delighted to be part of it.
He said competing in big events brought out the best in people.
