Six female athletes residing at the National Sports Institute have been given a fresh start at school through a donation from Goroka’s Seng Da Trading.
Athletics Papua New Guinea development officer Dior Lowry, pictured, and Toea Wisil received the donation on behalf of the female athletes.
Lowry pointed out that “little things” contributed to the athletes’ daily preparation ahead of track and field events.
“We will be looking forward for more support from the business sector as we move closer to the 2019 Pacific Games when more athletes are here,” Lowry said
When asked about other athletes at the institute, particularly Toea Wisil, Lowry said: “If a coach or administrator coaching PNG athletes has not learned from previous coaches, addressed or successfully solved any existing social problems with an athlete, they have failed in that department and should not speak on the subject.”
