Boera Sailors the side to beat in Hiri West

WITH four wins and a loss, the Boera Sailors will be out to maintain their top spot in the Hiri West Rugby League competition at Boera station field tomorrow.
Competition president Hubert Warupi said the Sailors had been the best side of the opening rounds of the competition.
“We have started our competition just recently and are heading into the fifth round this weekend,” Warupi said.
“We are hoping to wind up our season next month.
“We’ve been doing awareness in all the villages in the Hiri-West area and that has taken a lot of time and we started the comp in July.
“Our competitions times are short and we’ll have 10 or 12 rounds before the finals next month.
The Hiri West league is played at Lealea and Papa villages and we have eight teams in A grade, women’s and the U20 divisions.
Warupi said the competition caters for teams from all eight villages in the Hiri-West area.
