WELTERWEIGHT Tom Boga claimed a fourth-round knockout over fellow Papua New Guinea professional boxer Peter Miria at Port Moresby’s Sir John Guise Stadium Indoor Complex on Sunday.
Commonwealth Games boxer Boga, from Kama village in Goroka, Eastern Highlands, told The National that it was one of his easier wins.
The 31-year-old said he was yet to face a tough opponent in professional boxing.
“This is one of the easiest fights I’ve had,” the former rugby league player and junior Kumul said.
“He was the one who was throwing a lot of punches.
“I was calm in the first two rounds and he kept on coming at me.
“I knew he was going to tire in the third round and it happened.
“In the fourth round, I launched myself as I knew he was gone.
“I knocked him out.
“Overall, I am yet to face a tough opponent.”
Boga said it was about time he was given an international fight.
