Bomana Kaupa Cup off-season heads into final round

THE Bomana offseason John Kaupa Cup rugby league competition heads into its final round this weekend at Bomana Oval
Coordinator Felix Atusa said they had completed their last round last week and would head into their top 16 playoffs.
“After completing the top 16 this week, we will have the top eight playoffs starting next weekend,” Atusa said.
The top 16: A grade – Pool A: Dark Street Foxes, Gouna Farm Dogs, Moitaka Dragons, Nari Panthers, Vanuatu Dust, Morobe United, Agro Bullets, Kerepia Knights; Pool B: Erima Bulls, Depo Dogs, Pole Particles, Magnum Powerhouse, Nane Brothers, QPR 973, Soweto Storm, Makana Cowboys.
Unagi Oval Kaupa Cup challenge coordinator Jeffery Bomai said his side of the competition had already completed their regular rounds and finalizing their top 20 teams for their playoffs.
“This includes both the volleyball competition for the women and rugby league comp for men in both A and B grades,” Bomai said.
The finals of both competitions was supposed to be played at a neutral venue but because of difficulties in securing the venue the matches will revert to their regular locations.
Bomai said the top 20 teams had already been be confirmed.
He urged the teams to visit the competition’s Facebook page Port Moresby North East Sports Forum to confirm their spots.
This weekend’s draw will be released on their Facebook page.
