OKUK Watchdogs captain Kelly Billy says his team are aiming to make the final of the NCD leg of the Ipatas Cup which kicked off yesterday at the Kone Tigers Oval.
“Our aim as a team is to make it to the grand final,” a confident Billy said.
“Last year we made it to the semifinals but were knocked out. This time around we have a lot of skilled players so we’re aiming to go one step better.”
He embraced the presence of Esther Okuk and his two sons Dilu and Joseph Okuk, who were present on Tuesday at Jack Pidik Park to present a set of jerseys on behalf of husband and father Carl Okuk.
Okuk is also the team patron, he has been sponsoring the team for the CCIC NCD leg for the last two years, and this was his third consecutive year to show his support.
“With such support, we have high hopes that we will make it to the grand final not only to make our sponsor proud but also the people of 5-Mile,” Billy said.
Esther Okuk said she was delighted to present the jerseys to the Watchdogs.
