Book recommended for political reading

Letters

AT the Sydney Treasure and Trash Sunday market, I picked up Anthony Summer’s 640 page book The Arrogance Of Power: The Secret World of Richard Nixon, for a couple of dollars.
Philip Kerr of Sunday Times says of the book “highly readable, for anyone to whom truth and political integrity still mean something in these sleaze-and-spin times, Summer’s book is challenging reading”.
Gore Vidal says “compelling… convinces me that R.M.Nixon was even worse than any of us suspected” and Paul Theroux says the book is “the last word on this dark and devious man”.
Spectator describes the book as “a terrifying study of pathology”.
I thought of sharing this book – for me a real treasure – with your readers because in today’s world of politics so many leaders display similar arrogance of power and abuse of office.
And, I am sure you have a lot of readers to whom truth and political integrity is very important especially when the country is preparing to have an election.
