NATIONAL Book Week celebrations scheduled for this week will be low-key.
That is the result of a clash with an annual senior education officers’ conference under way in Kimbe, West New Britain.
The conference brings together education officers from all provinces, education partners and line departments.
At the conference they review, discuss, debate and share ideas as well as papers on education.
The event was deferred from June to this week as a result of the general election.
Themed “Achieving quality education and training through public, private and church partnership”, the conference focuses on building, maintaining and strengthening partnerships in education.
Education officials said National Book Week this week would be celebrated nonetheless.
However, it would be low key as the focus would be on the conference.
This year’s Book Week slogan is “Reading through partnership”.
