THE relation between Papua New Guinea and Botswana is based on the solid foundation of trust, mutual respect and a common desire to improve the lives of their people, says Botswana’s new high commissioner.
Lapolongang Lekoa made the remarks when he presented his credentials to Governor-General Sir Bob Dadae in Port Moresby yesterday.
He said the two countries shared strong bonds of friendship as members of the United Nations, Commonwealth and other international organisations based on the common values of democracy, the rule of law, respect for human rights and liberties as foundations of civil societies. Sir Bob said the PNG Government would work to support and enhance the bilateral relationship and mutual benefits of the two countries and the people.
“Papua New Guinea and Republic of Botswana formally established diplomatic relationships in 2010,” he said.
