ENVIRONMENTAL protection, management of natural resources, mining, cultural heritage and natural disasters are interests that bind PNG and Mexico, says Mexico’s new ambassador Eduardo Patricio Pena-Haller.
Pena-Haller who presented his letter of credence to Governor-General Sir Bob Dadae, said the two countries had ample areas of opportunity in trade and investment in everything from manufactured good to services.
He said work was needed to improve the bilateral agreements in subject of common interests.
“After 40 years of diplomatic relationship, not a single bilateral treaty has been signed between the two countries and I want to propose one and change that perspective,” he said.
Sir Bob said PNG would invite and encourage the Mexican government and business officials to visit PNG to explore opportunities for collaboration in these areas for the mutual benefit of both countries.
