Boy accused of murder

A TEENAGER who allegedly killed and dumped his two-year-old brother in a ditch has been charged with murder.
The 13-year-old boy from Southern Highlands is believed to have stabbed his younger sibling, who was left in his care by their father, on Tuesday.
Provincial police commander Sibron Papoto said the boy from Longo, north of Mendi town, was arrested on Wednesday.
Papoto said the boy used a kitchen knife on his younger brother Presley Buka Piu.
When their father came home and asked about his younger son, the boy denied seeing him. They then looked for him.
At around 3am the next morning, the boy admitted to his father that he had killed his younger brother.
Their father, Buka Piu, a single parent, reported the matter to the Mendi police station.
When police went to arrest him, the boy was armed. But police managed to disarm him.
He has not given any reasons for the killing.
