Brian Bell Group has announced Aid Appeal Day when it will donate all its profits from today to earthquake victims.
Chairman Ian Clough said the group will provide community building aid to the regions affected by the recent earthquakes.
“I am very pleased to announce that on April 13, 2018, the Brian Bell Group will be creating a national campaign via all of our divisions including Brian Bell Homecentres, Brian Bell Chemicals, Brian Bell Trade Electrical, and Brian Bell Agriculture,” he said.
“We will be donating 100 per cent of all profits from this day to the earthquake victims.”
Clough said there will be a 15 per cent discount on all items today.
The discount applies in stores nationwide.
Group chief executive Cameron Mackellar said they have created community packs to help families and communities start restoring their homes.
The packs are made up of spades, axes, tarpaulins, seeds, hammers and nails.
“These are all items that the people affected by the earthquake require to start rebuilding their lives and communities,” Mackellar said.
“We envisage all the profits raised (today) will be enough to see more than 500 community packs sent across the affected areas.”
Mackellar said that through this initiative the group is seeking to give more than just money.
Brian Bell is working with Oil Search Foundation aid teams to identify locations where the community packs are required.
“We understand that we will not be able to help everyone affected by the earthquake,” Mackellar said.
“However, we have created our community packs to begin the process of re-establishing lives and communities.”
