THE people of Kabiufa Namba Two in Goroka district, Eastern Highlands, paid K40,000 to the people of Mingende in Kerowagi district, Chimbu, to seal the marriage of Hariah Frank to young Journalist Verolyn Nombri.

Nombri, from Mingende village, and Frank, of Kabiufa Namba 2, married.

The K40,000 plus three cows, 13 pigs, three goats and three rabbits along with garden food stuff were paid.

Kabiufa spokesman Jacob Inamuga confirmed that the couple set a new record in terms of payment for the two villages.

Nombri, a journalism student at Divine Word University, worked as a journalist for the The National in Goroka several years ago.
