AUSTRALIAN High Commissioner Deborah Stokes  opened the newly refurbished offices of the public prosecutor last Friday.

Staff members, lawyers of the office and Public Prosecutor Pondros Kaluwin attended.

Work took eight weeks and was funded by AusAID and the PNG Government for K300,000.

The newly refurbished office covers the fourth floor and part of the third floor of the TISA Haus in Waigani, Port Moresby.

Stokes said it was a pleasure  to see the refurbished premises of the Office of the Public Prosecutor as the work of the public prosecutor was vital in PNG.

“Every time I meet the staff from the Office of the Public Prosecutor I am impressed by their dedication and professionalism,” she said at the opening.

“Australia is proud to be supporting their work and we look forward to even deeper cooperation in the future.”
