Officers to be replaced
A MEMORANDUM of understanding was signed yesterday between the Australian secretary for Finance Rosemary Huxtable and PNG secretary for Finance Dr Ken Ngangan. The Mou will see the continued placement of two officers from the PNG Department of Finance working in Canberra Australian department of finance for 12 months.

Strengthening relationship
INDONESIAN Ambassador to PNG Adriana Supandy says Papua New Guinea and Indonesia are big countries in the Pacific and needs to strengthen their bilateral relationship. He said President Joko Widodo and Prime Minister James Marape have talked about strengthening relationship and he would enhance the cooperation. About 3,000 Indonesians are residing and working in PNG.

Think positive, graduates told
COMMUNITY Development, Youth and Religion Minister Wake Goi told graduates of the Ginigoada Foundation’s financial literacy programme in Port Moresby last Tuesday to always think positive. Goi said he was happy to see such training take place because that was to help people and strengthen the formal sector.

Warning to travellers
MOROBE Governor Ginson Saonu urged his people to prepare themselves well before travelling on long journey. Saonu told The National that while the news of the death of 16 people who were travelling to Indagen in Kabwum from Lae was shocking, it also serves as a lesson.
