Alcohol ban
SUPERMARKETS and wholesalers have been prohibited from selling liquor on Friday, Saturday or Sunday under the Covid-19 state of emergency (SOE) orders. The order came yesterday from SOE Controller David Manning.

Operations ongoing
Hevilift Ltd continued operations during the Covid-19 lockdown to support the Government as well as the mining, oil and gas industry, a company official says. General-manager for Port Moresby Angus Earl said: “We continued to a minor extent and supported the country, most importantly getting the personal protective equipment around together with our clients like ExxonMobil, PJV, Harmony and the Defence Force.”

Dept receives help
ExxonMobil PNG has donated PPEs to the Health Department in its efforts to further support the fight against the Covid-19. “The safety of our workforce, their families and the communities in which we live and work are of the highest priority,” said executive director of ExxonMobil PNG Keith Killian.

Rigo gets supplies
PEOPLE in Rigo, Central, received food supplies and material for producing masks recently, thanks to the district development authority. MP Lekwa Gure, when launching the Covid-19 relief programme noted that his people had lost their gardens due to flooding.

Team visits villages
A TEAM has visited six villages in Rigo: Gidobada, Saroa, Babaga, Kwalimurubu, Gomore and Kemaea to donate food as part of helping the locals. According to Rigo MP Lekwa Gure, the Covid-19 relief supplies programme was expected to run for three weeks.

Hand-washers set up
TEN primary schools in Gazelle, East New Britain, received hand-wash stations donated by Pacific Industries in Kokopo. Gazelle MP Jelta Wong said the 10 stations would be distributed to two schools each in the five LLGs – Livuan Reimber, Inland Baining, Lassul Baining, Toma Vunadidir and Central Gazelle.
