Embassy donates equipment
THE Israeli embassy in Singapore donated personal protective equipment to the Port Moresby General Hospital (PMGH) frontline staff in their fight against the Covid-19 last Thursday. PMGH chief executive officer Dr Paki Molumi said the donation would address a priority area of the hospital which was staff protection in the efforts to contain the Covid-19. The donation includes two cartons of face masks, protective suits, infrared thermometers and NK95 masks. Israeli embassy consul and head of administration in Singapore, Lior Batsov said the embassy was pleased to support PNG’s Covid-19 fight.

Hospital sets up screening
THE Modilon Hospital in Madang has initiated to set up a work station for screening (pre-triage) using a few materials as the initial set up. The hospital has also repurposed and refurbished ward 5 and installed four beds to keep suspected cases’ sample collection of suspected cases. The isolation ward will be improved to a self-contained unit with toilet, shower, cooking area, laundry and clothes line, hand-washing basin and temporary fencing.

K800,000 allocated for virus
ABOUT K800,000 has been allocated to West New Britain for its Covid-19 response. According to the West New Britain health authority, the funding included K600,000 from the WNB provincial government and K200,000 from National Department of Health.
