Classes resume
THE St Michael’s Brahman Secondary School in Usino-Bundi, Madang, resumed classes this week with the grades 10 and 12 starting next week and grades 9 and 11 the following week. School principal John Paul Malangen said that grades 10 and 12 have examinations so they had started this week.

Food distributed: MP
A PROGRAMME to provide food for Rigo in Central has covered 70 per cent of the population over the past two weeks. Local MP Lekwa Gure told the people last week while visiting four villages – Babagarubu, Riwalirubu, Galomarubu and Tauruba – to remain vigilant despite some state of emergency restrictions being relaxed.

2,000 masks donated
THE business community in Popondetta, Northern, donated 2,000 masks and washing detergent to the provincial health authority (PHA) and the Popondetta Police Station as their contribution towards frontline workers for prevention of the coronavirus. PHA acting chief executive officer Copland Ihove said although State of Emergency Controller David Manning relaxed some orders and directions, it was important that frontline workers continued to observe health and safety measures.

Covid-19 programme
CHURCH leaders and medical experts teamed up to provide pastoral support and accurate public health information during this time of pandemic by launching a new radio and TV programme, The PNG hour of hope. This programme was launched recently by the PNG Council of Churches and the National Broadcasting Corporation to provide daily Covid-19 information and spiritual guidance.

Couple help settlers
A COUPLE in Eastern Highlands donated food items worth thousands of kina to settlers in Goroka during the lockdown. According to Kinsley and his wife Helen, most of these settlers were informal sector vendors who suffered when their table markets were removed.
