Prisoners receive supplies
THE Kokopo-Vunamami urban local level government in East New Britain is helping Kerevat Prison inmates with sporting and medical supplies. Kokopo Mayor Isidor Bonga, when presenting the supplies to prison commanding officer Supt Margaret Garap, said prison inmates must be supported because they were still part of the community.

Use land appropriately: Official
BUGIAU-WAGAU Lands Special Task Force Committee chairman Steven Konjib says it is important that Papua New Guinea deal appropriately with land use to meet the global energy targets set by the United Nations. He said: “We must be the generation that changes our society to save our natural ecosystem.”

Vaccine transport for staff
MARIE Stopes Papua New Guinea says it provided transport for its staff and families from their homes to Coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccination sites. “One hundred per cent of our staff have been vaccinated since July. This has definitely helped us weather this third wave. We also would like to do more to protect our families and friends,” said director Dr David Ayres said.

Airline workers win K10,000
SIX Air Niugini staff walked away with a total cash prize of K10,000 recently from a lottery by the company to reward employees who volunteered to receive the Coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccine. The first prize was K5,000 followed by K1,000 each for the rest of the winners. Air Niugini in a statement said it had provided a venue each week for medical staff from the National Capital District Health Authority to be on site to provide vaccination.
