A 14-YEAR-OLD primary schoolboy was among the top five winners of the National Cultural Commission (NCC) logo design competition, NCC executive director Steven Enomb Kilanda says.
“We received more than 800 logo designs in the four-week competition and Holy Rosary Primary School’s Bededick Paul won the K250 fifth prize,” he added.
Speaking at the presentation of certificates and cash prizes in Port Moresby on Friday, Kilanda said the designs were received nationwide from students in primary and secondary schools, higher education institutions and the public, including professional graphics and arts designers.
The K5,000 first prize was won by Edwin Kouvali, a professional graphic artist, the K2,500 second prize went to Stemson Bisi, an Asia Pacific College student, the K1,500 was won by James Wanu, a professional graphic artist and Anthoney Woni, a Vanimo Secondary School student walked away with K500.
Kilanda thanked all designers for participating and encouraged them to continue to develop their talents and skills.
“I regret it was a competition with only one winner.
“You are all winners in your own rights,” he added.
“We will continue to support this industry within our capacity to develop, promote and market your creative talent.”
