Court drops case
MAGISTRATE Cosmas Bidar in the Waigani Committal Court adjourned the case of a man charged with receiving stolen property to Feb 26. The defendant is John Nabere, 42, of Sinesine-Yogumugl in Chimbu. Nabere was alleged to have bought K700 worth of dog vaccines from RSPCA vet nurse Samson Gaire. The vaccines received from Gaire on Dec 14, were alleged to have been stolen from RSPCA. Magistrate Bidar said it was the second mention of the case, the first was on Dec 20. The defendant was employed as a kernel master for Guard Dog Security Services at the time of the incident.

Bank worker charged
A BANK worker appeared in the Waigani Committal Court last Tuesday over alleged misappropriation of K300,000 belonging to an incorporated land group, Kuabini Landowners’ Association. Moses Karnhick, from Bougainville, worked as a mortgage specialist with ANZ Bank in Port Moresby when he allegedly stole from the association. He could not be found since Jan last year. Karnhick asked presiding magistrate Alex Kalandi to adjourn the case since his lawyer had not prepared his files.

Police investigate murder
BOUGAINVILLE police are investigating a murder at Malis village in Buka. Police commander Francis Tokura said a man was murdered there on Jan 11.
