Bankers clash
BANK teams Westpac and Kina Bank face off in the main clash of the Private Companies Netball Competition fifth round the Rita Flynn Indoor Complex on Sunday.
Westpac with season campaigners are favoured over Kina Bank.
Westpac and Bank South Pacific lead the competition and are assured finals spots with two games left in the season. In the other notable fixture over the weekend, Moore Printing take on Boroko Motors and Proclean face BSP 1. PCNC president Julie Mai said commended the teams for turning up prepared and for allowing games to be run on time. She said it had boosted the morale of the new executives.

Pool comp heats up
THE Golden Kina House singles pool competition pots off tonight.
Competition president Dr Sam Yockopua commended the continued partnership with co-sponsors Golden Kina House, Emed Consultancy Ltd and Pebbles Ltd, who have provided cash prizes and awards. The men’s single champion will receive K6000 and a trophy while women’s winner gets K3000 and a trophy. The runners-up get K4000 and K1500. Reigning men’s champion Kelly Yambi leads Group A with Kim Kala on top in group B, Jorden Olewale heads Group C and Tom English heads Group D after two rounds. Tonight, Yambi takes on unbeaten Peter Yulu in Group A to determine the outright leader.

Kaupa Cup finals on
THE Kaupa Cup’s top 20 rugby league playoffs start tomorrow at the Unagi Oval, Gordon. The competition’s women’s soccer division will hold its finals next week. President Jeffery Bomai said the men’s rugby league had a 38-team competition while the women’s soccer competition comprised 16 teams. He said his attempt to secure either the Murray Barracks or the Taurama Barracks fields for their knockouts were unsuccessful so they would use the Unagi Oval.

Bomana booming
THE Bomana Offseason rugby league heads into its top-eight playoffs. President Jacob Pipik said games would be at the Bomana Police College field tomorrow.
Moresby Northwest MP John Kaupa, pictured, will kick off the games. The Housing and Urbanisation Minister will also kick off the Kaupa Cup finals in Gordon on the same day. In the Ward 5/6 playoffs, minor premiers ID 24 Rangers take on Kanage Tribe in the A grade match and in B grade, GSK Eels face Emma Knights at Unagi Oval, Gordon.
In the Ward 9/12 playoffs, A grade teams Wanu Dust take on Nane Brothers in the A grade clash at Bomana.

Hohola into prelims
THE Hohola offseason rugby league have its preliminary finals tomorrow. In B grade, grand finalist Hox 2 Magpies are on standby to play the winner of the Mutrus Brothers-Bus Stop Spartans clash. In A grade Texas Melona and Mutrus Brothers face off again after their semifinal last week was abandoned after protests.
