Flames, Tamaraws face off in NCDBA’s main game

Sports

THE red-hot Southern Flames take on the Tamaraws in the top men’s and women’s A grade clashes at the Hohola court tomorrow.
Flames have beaten Tamaraws in both divisions and are tipped to continue that trend.
In the men’s clash, Flames with PNG internationals Purari Muri, Moses Lune, Charles Parapa and Cornelius Muri should have too much skill, power and experience for the buffaloes led by their own stars in Gabriel Elavo, youngster Moses Kairi and veteran Bernard Elavo. Tamaraws porous needs to by stand up to the Flames and make the men in red work hard for every bucket.
Their ability to get stops and use up the shot clock on the offensive end will blunt and frustrate the more fancied Southerners. In the women’s clash, the Flames have the talented Elina Yala, Betty Wong, Lyn Unagi and Lydia Gotuno up against Tamaraws’ equally skilled Rosa Kairi, Mary Elavo Jr and Maka Muri.
Yala and Wong have been in great form over the last month leading the scoring, rebounds and assists for their side and are expected to take the game to Tamaraws.
