Bring back Rabaul-Lihir flights

 IT is a shock to those of us living in Lihir that Air Niugini has decided to withdraw their flights from Rabaul to Lihir, effective Oct 28. 

While we understand that this may be a cost-saving measure undertaken by the only commercial airline, it is a slap in the face for business houses and individuals who used to enjoy the service. 

At first, the five daily flights a week were reduced to twice, and now, there has been a complete withdrawal of flights. 

A one-way flight that costs K400 will now cost K1,600 plus to go to Rabaul or Lihir via Port Moresby. 

I hope the management reconsiders the decision. 

At least, put back one flight per week.
