Why bring in expat teachers?

Letters

IN last Thursday’s The National, Education minister Nick Kuman says he and his delegates will travel to India to recruit science and maths teachers.
As a young, committed and dedicated science teacher for upper secondary schools, it is a big slap in the face to work so hard and so much and get paid so little.
Mr Minister, if you cannot pay public servants on time — the tuition-free fees components have not been paid for the last quarter — how would you pay the expatriate teachers?
Provide incentives and proper entitlements to your hard-working teachers and your goals for Vision 2050 will be achieved.
