The Broncos’ 34-16 victory at the Sydney Cricket Ground, which included a hat-trick of tries by the Papua New Guinea international, saw the Broncos come away with their third win of the season and positive momentum moving forward in preparation for the Suncorp Stadium clash (7.50pm kick-off).
Mead, from Tubusereia, Central, said the five-day break between games wouldn’t be a problem for the team, with the group eager to get back out on the park.
“It’s a short turnaround so at least we get to play footy a lot sooner,” he said.
“I’m sure everyone will be really excited come Thursday night.
“We’ve got a five-day turnaround, so we’ve got to focus on Melbourne.”
He said Melbourne were playing really good football this year as they always do, so the Broncos got to focus on them.
“Melbourne have always been a team who play to their potential,” Mead said.
“So no matter who puts on the Melbourne jersey, they’re always going to play good footy consistently.
“I thought we played really well as a team against the Roosters who are a quality side.
“To go down to Sydney and get a win there is always a good feeling.
“We were very happy with the Roosters game, and we got some confidence out of that.” – broncos
