RABAUL Gurias recruit Justin Yoka says he aiming to win his first Digicel Cup title this year and earn selection back into the SP Hunters squad for the 2022 Queensland Intrust Super Cup season.
A product of Pangia Rugby League club Western Yambi Tarangau, the playmaker told The National on Friday that the Gurias were a glamour team who had strong values.
The former Kimbe Cutter, from Yungili village in Pangia, Southern Highlands, said he wanted to produce good, consistent performances and help the 2020 minor premiers go one better this season.
“I’ve been with teams like Waghi Tumbe and the Kimbe Cutters who are both good,” Yoka said.
“But this season, I decided to join the Gurias.
“I think it’s a good choice as the club is built around good values.
“Their discipline and culture are good which only make you a better player.”
