TWO prominent Brisbane Broncos players described their historical visit to Papua New Guinea as inspiring.
Broncos and Queensland Maroons forward Sam Thaiday and five-eighth Anthony Milford were not first-timers in the country but spoke of the experience as something they would remember in a very long time.
“Coming up here is a great experience seeing Port Moresby and meeting the people. This is my fifth time to be here,” Thaiday said.
“I know how the PNG Hunters are popular here in PNG. I think it’s great to come up here and share this experience with our fans here.
“I understand that we have a lot of fans up here and to just come and meet with them and see their reaction makes a whole experience overwhelming,” the 32-year-old said.
Five-eighth Milford also shared similar sentiments of their visit here to PNG
“Our coming here has embraced the people and it’s very exciting seeing everyone come on board and supporting the game we love,” Milford said.
Apart from the trial match where they beat the Hunters 26-12, the Broncos fans in the country were thrilled to see their favourite rugby league stars during their short stay in the country.
The Broncos visited Vabukori village and the Vision City mall on Friday to meet with hundreds of their fans.
