LOPI Brothers will take on Laikos in the men’s main match of the Goroka Softball Association pre-season at the National Sports Institute (NSI) diamond two this Sunday.
Evergreen Gabby Agunam and Chris Lai will lead the Laikos onslaught against Brothers to be led by local ward Councillor Martin Wilson and Steven Mondiai.
The two sides have maintained their good form and have been consistent unlike other teams that have struggled in the pre-season.
Experienced Laikos players to put up the challenge apart from Lai and Agunam would be Joshua Agunam, Dominic Mark, Elliot Yamuje and Joey Bonki.
In the bretherens camp besides Wilson and Mondiai, Brothers will count on Gaulim Kaminiel, Mark Tovue, Bondi Mathew, Junior Baluse and Wesley Pinat to clinch a win over their rivals.
Interim games committee chairman Sebby Kuka Womola while releasing the weekend’s draw earlier this week said the main encounter between Brother and Laikos would be a thriller.
Brown Eagles and Faniufa Tigers will test their strength prior to the main encounter after a women’s game between the Brown Eagles and Faniufa Tigers.
The other women’s games will be played in diamond one tomorrow with Laikos taking on Lopi Sisters, Malanan playing the University of Goroka (UOG) before the men’s game between Malangan and UOG.
Womola urged teams to turn up on time to play their scheduled games because the weather could affect matches.
“There will be a junior competition starting tomorrow for children under 16 years.
“I urge parents to bring their children with their softball gear as early as 8am so we can get games underway,” Womola said.
