THE Lamana pool competition, which runs from  Feb 26 to April 23, got a timely boost from the Bank South Pacific yesterday.
The support comes in the form of T-shirts and caps for referees to wear when officiating at the various games to ensure the smooth running of the competition.
Sixteen teams will be participating in this year’s competition.
Referees play an important role in any game, including pool, therefore, the bank had come to the aid of 10 referees with caps and T-shirts.
Apart from the T-shirts and caps, BSP also paid their referees’ fees of K920.
BSP representative Chrissilla Kabe Talis said that BSP was keen support sports in PNG and was grateful to lend a hand to the local competition in Port Moresby.
Lamana’s operations manager Umesh Navani thanked BSP for the support and lauded the bank for its commitment to developing and supporting sports in PNG.
“We are greatly appreciative for this assistance from BSP,” she said.
