BANK South Pacific (BSP) has sponsored Digicel Cup franchise Kimbe Cutters with K100,000 for a second straight season.
According to BSP New Guinea Islands manager Jeffrey Singer, the sponsorship is part of a three-year partnership that was signed between the West New Britain franchise and the company last year. Singer presented the cheque to West New Britain Deputy Governor Joe Naipu who received it on behalf of Kimbe Cutters patron Sasindran Muthuvel at the Sasi Muthuvel Stadium on Thursday.
Singer said during the presentation that BSP was happy to support the Cutters in its second year in the country’s premier rugby league competition. “Community is one of BSP’s core values and so at BSP, we pride ourselves on supporting the communities we operate in,” he said.
Cutters board chairman Dominic Kaumu thanked BSP for its continued support and sponsorship of the franchise. He said the support was crucial in preparing the team for the upcoming season.
Team manager Freddie Kumai also thanked BSP on behalf of the team.
He said the players were grateful to BSP for its support.
“Thank you BSP and we look forward to another challenging and better year in the Digicel Cup,” he said.
