BANK South Pacific (BSP) has presented Digicel Foundation with K13,000 to support the 2019 Men of Honour Awards at the end of the month.
The bank will be the naming right sponsor of the “Community Leadership Award” category for the Men of Honour Awards.
“Aligned with the bank’s core values of community and leadership, we are pleased to support the course to contribute to developing and rewarding men for their commitment and contribution in their respective communities,” BSP head of marketing Gorethy Semi said during the cheque presentation in Port Moresby.
“As a community-oriented bank, we respect, value and support the communities in which we operate in,” she said. “As a leading bank in the Pacific, BSP is proud to support this category to continue its partnership with corporate organisations and foster relationship with talented community leaders who demonstrate positive and inspiring behaviours.
“At BSP, leadership is one of our core values.
“We inspire, we change and we live our values and lead by example. It is a better way to partner with Digicel Foundation Men of Honour Awards to recognise men.”
Digicel Foundation chief executive officer Serena Sasingian said the Men of Honour Awards provided men with a platform to tell their stories and use it to advocate against the violence that is so prevalent across society. Sasingian said the main outcome of these efforts is to create a brotherhood of phenomenal men who come together to influence positive change in their communities.
“We have received 271 high quality nominations for all categories and we look forward to the awards night on Aug 29 at the Apec Haus in Port Moresby.
“The BSP support will go towards sponsoring prize money and organising of the event.
“We hope that this campaign will encourage a culture of mutual respect,” Sasingian said.
