Hoskins flights resume

AIR Niugini has resumed operations to Hoskins Airport, West New Britain.
“We acknowledge the National Airports Corporation and the business houses in Hoskins for their continuous efforts in removing the volcanic ash from the runway and taxiway,” a statement from the airline said yesterday.
Air Niugini suspended operations again on Aug 4 due to the second eruption of Mt Ulawun after the initial eruption on June 27.
Air Niugini operates daily flights between Hoskins and Port Moresby, and three services weekly between Hoskins and Lae, and 11 services weekly between Hoskins and Rabaul.
