Builder ensures public safety

PHOENIX Construction Ltd, the builder of the foot bridge at Waigani, has been working with various agencies to ensure public safety during its construction.

Norman Nordin told TheNational that Phoenix was talking to PNG Power Ltd because part of the bridge at the Vision City end would cause interruptions to power lines.

“I have had several meetings with PNG Power in which we havereached agreements and work is flowing smoothly,” he said.

“PNG Power had asked complete the final foot of the bridge before they run an underground cable. We have done that last week.”

Nordin said PNG Power would work on the underground cable this week.

He said workers were working on the walkway for pedestrians.

“The bridge is expected to be completed in early March,” Nordin said.
