CHRISTMAS and New Year sporting activities around Goroka are continuing – thanks to the financial support of Bintangor Goroka Lahanis’ minor sponsors, Joe Bulhage.
Bulhage is helping youth sporting groups with financial help to celebrate the festive season.
Bulhage, who sponsored more than a dozen sporting associations around Goroka in volleyball, soccer and rugby league, has over the past two weeks helped sports organisers and participants with in excess of K50,000.
Emphasising the importance of sports as the main vehicle to stop youths from resorting to illegal activities, Bulhage said he would help where he could.
He has given between K2,000 to K7,000 to groups that have reciprocated by slaughtering15 pigs and offering tons of fresh garden foods.
The areas he has helped include Nagamiza, Nagamiufa, Kameiufa 1 and 3, Seigu, Nupaha/Kaveve, Kabiufa 2 (Hegu), Kefamo, Bena Kofi (Steakhouse), Genoka, Notofana, Alenumpa, 6-Mile (Samogoyufa) and Goroka Lahanis.
For the Digicel Cup reigning champions 2012 campaign, he has committed K2,000 towards the costs of staging trials to select potential Lahanis players.
He will continue sponsoring the Lahanis man of the match awards this year, with an increased stake.
