WHILE the two factions of parliament tussle over the national leadership, a group bordering the fringes of Madang and Chimbu, maintains that the O’Neill government has the best policies for the country.
The paramount chief of the Bononi clan in the Bundi local level government, a village closer to Chimbu than Madang, Jacob Koga Koroma said: “We are one of the remotest villages in Madang and have been forgotten since independence.
“Despite being remote we have heard of O’Neill’s policies such as free education; the equal benefit sharing between developer, landowner and government
and the low tax on goods and services.
“This is something that we, as owners of two mines in the Usino Bundi district, want to see.
“We are resource owners and want the best for our people. Let us have equal benefits with the developers and enjoy the free education and tax free wages to be imposed.”
He said it would be wise to hold onto the O’Neill policies.
