Impasse will make PNG biggest loser

THE political impasse can only end if the governor-general were to dissolve parliament and call for an early election.
Sometimes I wonder whether our politicians are aware that their childish behaviour is not only dividing the nation but also causing investors to lose their confidence in PNG.
Both the O’Neill and Somare factions are equally hungry for power and our Constitution has been abused by the parliamentarians.
The leaders must see themselves as Papua New Guineans first and not Southern Highlanders, Sepiks or Engans.
Leaders are supposed to be servants of the people, not to boss the people.
I cannot understand why both regimes are operating in separate camps instead of out of parliament.
I suggest they hold debates and tell the people what their policies and manifestoes are.
The O’Neill regime is making ridiculous laws such as limiting the age of the prime minister.
This is highly discriminatory.
As long as both sides claim to be the rightful government, investors will not know who to deal with and the big loser will be Papua New Guinea.
I, for one, have lost confidence in the O’Neill regime because it has shown total disrespect to Papua New Guineans, the Constitution and passing ridiculous laws or amending others to hang on to power.
